Graphic devices

Tools, not a template.

Devices are chosen per composition mode. Core devices appear often; optional devices when the message is commercial or interactive; specialist devices only when capacity, size or location is the point. No device appears for decoration.

Principle
Every device must carry information or structure.
Rule
Core: signal, type, sign-off. Optional: info block, chips, spec cells. Specialist: dimension lines, plans, frames. If a device carries nothing on this surface, remove it.
When to use
Per composition mode.
When not to use
Decoration, texture, “to look designed”.
Do
  • Start with no device and add only what the message needs
  • Keep one signature per surface
Don’t
  • Frame + info block + plan + chips on one post
  • Dimension lines without a real value
